Former "American Idol" judge, Steven Tyler decided to walk in the shoes of a competitor for once and went to an 'Idol' audition as a contestant, in drag.

The Aerosmith lead singer introduced himself to the judges Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj and Randy Jackson as "Pepper LaBeija from the House of LaBeija."

The judges shrieked with laughter at Tyler's Mrs. Doubtfire-like transformation, but Carey was the punniest one by saying, "dude, looks like a lady," the title of one of Tyler's hit songs.

The singer decided to make an appearance to wish the new judges luck as they begin the show's new season.

''I just wanted to come by and say hello. I love you. Good luck with this year,'' he told them.

Between the laughter and the chatter, Tyler's alter ego, Pepper LaBeija, didn't really get a chance to audition. As he disappointingly walked away from the set he mumbled, ''No Hollywood for me.''
