Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton official put the "former" in front of her title Friday afternoon, leaving the State Department the furthest-traveled person to ever hold that post and one of the most popular politicians in the country.

Clinton thanked her staff and colleagues, and warned she might call "just to talk." She also expressed her confidence in the direction the administration had set in its foreign policy.

But--sorry 2016 watchers--there was no hint of a presidential run.

Her remarks begin around 15:00.
