VIDEO: NASA explains why the world won't end on December 21

By KATE STANTON, UPI.com

NASA is so confident that the world won't end on December 21, they have released a video debunking the popular myth ten days early. "If you're watching this video it means one thing, the world didn't end yesterday," the video begins.

NASA's recruits several scientists and historians to debunk theories that December 21, 2012 marks the end of the Mayan calendar. "The whole thing was a misconception from the very beginning." explains Dr. John Carlson, of the Center for Archaeoastronomy. No Mayan legends predicted the end of the world, he adds.

And if you're worried about a "Deep Impact" or "Armageddon" type scenarios, NASA's video tells us not to worry: "No known asteroids or comets were a collision course with earth."
