“When we found out Ryan Lochte was going to be in town and might appear on 90210, we felt like we'd won a gold medal!" "90210" producers Patti Carr and Lara Olsen said in a release.

"We only wish the episode was a surf event so we could have gotten him in the water, but he deserves a little rest on dry land," they added.

This will be Ryan Lochte's first-ever appearance in a television series, but he'll have plenty of former athletes to look to for guidance. Here's a look at several other sports stars who have taken a stab at the small screen.

Michael Strahan -- "Chuck"

Strahan, former defensive end for the New York Giants, guest starred in a 2008 episode of cult hit "Chuck," as the leader of a group of sporting goods store bullies called the Mighty Jocks.
