SEOUL, April 5 (UPI) -- Seoul police say they have arrested a woman who allegedly abandoned her newborn son due to her online video game addiction.

Police are withholding the identity of the 25-year-old suspect, who allegedly gave birth in a public bathroom at a 24-hour Internet cafe. She allegedly dropped the baby into a garbage bag and left it out on the street, returning to her overnight "PC bang," an online video game gathering.

Two days later, the baby was found dead in a nearby garbage can, after cleaning crews put the garbage bag into the trash a day before, security footage showed.

Yonhap news agency reported the woman had a serious video game addiction. After breaking up with the father of the baby, she spent the majority of her time in PC bangs, begging strangers on the Internet for money to fuel her habit. She told police she wasn't sure how to raise the child.
