NEW YORK, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- A water main leak under the intersection at Fifth Avenue and 64th Street in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood is possibly to blame for a sinkhole that opened up Tuesday morning, officials said.
The crater measured about 20 feet wide and 20 feet deep and developed around 7 a.m. local time. Authorities told WABC-TV in New York a 48-inch water main was leaking underground in the area and may have caused the sinkhole.
