LAS VEGAS, March 4 (UPI) -- Twin 16-week-old fetuses were found among the dirty linen at a laundry facility in Henderson, Nev., on Tuesday.

Staff at the Angelica Corp., a company that provides laundry services to area hospitals, contacted police, who traced the laundry shipment back to Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas.

A spokeswoman for the hospital said in a statement that the mother of the twin fetuses "suffered a miscarriage at another location," and arrived at the hospital with them already wrapped in linen.

The hospital said they had yet to determine why the miscarried fetuses were thrown in the laundry, but Henderson police said they did not suspect foul play.

"We are currently reviewing the situation to determine what occurred. However, the remains are currently in the hospital's possession, and we are working with the family at this time," the statement added.
