STATE COLLEGE, Pa., Sept. 5 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania prosecutor who won the conviction of Jerry Sandusky says ex-Penn State officials "absolutely" knew of abuse allegations against the former coach.

Frank Fina, a central figure in the investigation and trial of Sandusky, said administrators Graham Spanier, Tim Curley and Gary Schultz "absolutely, premeditatedly, I believe, didn't report this and hid it," the (State College, Pa.) Centre Daily Times reported Wednesday.

"I don't think there's any question that that's what Spanier, Schultz and Curley did," Fina, a former prosecutor in the state attorney general's office, said on the Showtime show "60 Minutes Sports."

The men face charges they conspired in 1999 and 2001 to cover up allegations of child sexual abuse against Sandusky. They have said they are innocent of the accusations.

Lawyers for Schultz and Curley filed a request for an injunction to prevent the show's broadcast after Fina's comments were released Tuesday.

In their petition to a Dauphin County judge, the attorneys said the broadcast could taint a possible jury pool. They also charged Fina violated a professional code of conduct by expressing a personal opinion about a defendant's guilt.

The show aired as scheduled. The judge's decision was not known.

Fina said in his interview he found no evidence Penn State's renowned football coach, the late Joe Paterno, was involved in the cover-up.
