WASHINGTON, April 30 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama said Tuesday immigration reform legislation introduced in the Senate meets his basic criteria.
At a White House news conference, Obama said there are things in the bill he would like to change but overall is acceptable.

Obama said he will be open-minded about what House Republicans produce in answer, but any legislation will have to meet his basic criteria.
Obama said among other things, legislation has to provide a pathway to citizenship for those already in the United States.
