Man arrested again for buttocks injections

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- A Florida man was arrested a second time in a month for allegedly giving buttocks-enhancement silicone shots in a motel room, police said.

Calvin Edward Butler, 44, of Pahokee, also known as "Tameika," was charged Tuesday with practicing medicine without a license, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Wednesday. His bail was set at $100,000.

Police deputies said he injected silicone into customers' buttocks at El Patio Motel in West Palm Beach and sealed the skin punctures with Krazy Glue. They alleged he drew silicone from a plastic cup, wore no gloves or protective clothing during the procedure, and charged his patients $200.

Butler was first arrested in January when two unidentified people told investigators similar stories about alleged illegal procedures. The latest victim read of Butler's arrest and went to police, the newspaper said.

In each case, side effects included severe infections and likely permanent disfigurement, the newspaper said.

The latest victim met with Butler four times over a 10-week period, each time receiving an injection and paying $200. The victim went to a hospital after developing an infection and fever and doctors performed three surgeries. Butler, dressed as a woman, visited the victim, and told the victim not to tell doctors about the injections, Butler's arrest report stated.

The victim went to police after allegedly being threatened by a friend of Butler's and after learning he wasn't the only person who received the injections, the arrest report said.
