Arrest made for illegal butt enhancements

HIALEAH, Fla., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- A woman in Hialeah, Fla., was arrested for illegally performing "butt enhancements," medical procedures to improve the size and shape of a patient's rear end.

Samela Hernandez, 53, and her husband Pedro were arrested this week on charges of practicing healthcare without a license and possession of blank prescription forms, The Miami Herald reported Friday.

She is accused of injecting a "foreign substance" into a female patient "for purposes of enhancing size and shape" of the patient's rear end, only to see it grow "deformed and sensitive," the Hialeah police report said.

Police raided the Hernandez home and seized medical equipment and a list of clients. Two people in the house told police they had undergone similar procedures for months, believing Hernandez to be a nurse, the Herald reported.

The first victim said she suffered a "permanent deformity" of her buttocks, and learned the substance injected has been banned in Colombia "because of its tendency to cause cancer," the police report said.

Detectives said Hernandez was importing the solution, bottled as "massage wax," from Colombia, the newspaper said.

Her arrest comes after the recent unrelated arrest of Oneal Morris, a transgender woman charged in two Florida counties with injecting people seeking fuller posteriors with ingredients, including Fix-a-Flat, a rubber sealant, leading to at least one death, the newspaper said.
