Nov. 6, 2012 at 1:57 PM

DETROIT, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Michigan authorities are holding a suspect in 24 shooting incidents since Oct. 16 along the Interstate 96 corridor, state police said.

Michigan State Police Capt. Monica Yesh said the suspect's car matches the description of the black, four-door vehicle that witnesses saw, the Detroit Free Press reported Tuesday.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was taken into custody Monday night during a raid at a home in Wixom, Yesh said.

Three of the shootings occurred on I-96 while the rest happened on surface roads or other highways in Oakland, Ingham, Livingston and Washtenaw counties.
