DETROIT, July 23 (UPI) -- A suspect was arraigned Monday in the shooting and dismemberment slayings of a suburban Detroit couple whose mutilated bodies were found in a river.
Roger Bowling of Allen Park was charged with two counts of premeditated first-degree murder, two counts of dismemberment and mutilation of a body, two counts of felony firearm and one count of tampering with evidence, the Wayne County prosecutor's office said.
The bodies of Chris Hall, 42, and Danielle Greenway, 32, also both of Allen Park were discovered last week in the Detroit River. A circular saw and suitcase were found near their dismembered limbs.

Friends of the couple said Bowling once dated Greenway, the Detroit Free Press reported Monday.
Bowling "was down on his luck and she invited him to stay in their basement so he could get his act together, and he was there for about three weeks," family friend April Purdin said.
At the arraignment in 24th District Court, Judge John Courtright scheduled an Aug. 6 preliminary examination for Bowling, and ordered him held without bond in the Wayne County Jail.
People present in the courtroom shouted "Burn in hell" and other comments at Bowling as he was led away, the newspaper said.
