More chemicals in confessed killer's home

BARRIE, Ontario, July 21 (UPI) -- Neighbors of a Canadian killing suspect whose house had a bunker full of explosives were forced to evacuate again Friday because of dangerous chemicals.

Police said four houses in Barrie, Ontario, were evacuated, and residents of three other homes were advised to stay inside, the Toronto Star reported. Constable Angela Butler said the evacuation was expected to be lifted by the end of the day.

Residents of the neighborhood where Donald Feldhoff, 54, and his father, William, 75, lived were forced out of their homes for a week by the discovery of improvised explosive devices and other materials. Donald Feldhoff surrendered to police July 11, confessing to the 1978 killing of William Traynor, whose body was found in a wooded area near Barrie.

Police found additional chemicals concealed behind a basement panel Friday, a day after investigators thought the Feldhoff home had been cleared.

Donald Feldhoff has been charged with first-degree murder and his father as an accessory to murder. Both are expected to face additional charges involving the explosives.
