Two slain in shooting outside Alaska bar

ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Police in Anchorage, Alaska, say a shooting early Monday left two people dead and two wounded outside a bar in the Muldoon area.

A flurry of 911 calls around 3:30 a.m. AKST brought officers to J.J.'s Lounge where they found the body of one man in the parking lot and another in the street.

A man and a woman were taken to a hospital with apparent gunshot wounds, police told the Anchorage Daily News.

"The male was shot in the arms and the female was taken into surgery immediately," police Lt. Dave Parker said, adding that investigators were "digging through all the witness statements and trying to pull all that together."

A resident of the neighborhood told the newspaper he heard about eight shots and hit the floor for cover along with his wife and daughter. "We all laid on the floor and listened," Sean Osborn said.
