Minn. brothers accused of killing mother

ALBERTA, Minn., July 12 (UPI) -- Two Minnesota teenagers whose mother's body was found buried in her back yard last week have been charged with murdering her last December.

Jacob Cobb, 17, was charged in Stevens County juvenile court Monday with the second-degree intentional murder of Tamara Mason, 49, and Andrew Cobb, 18, as an accessory after the fact, The (Fargo, N.D.) Forum reports

A third brother, Dylan Clemens, 25, was in custody in an unrelated case and was likely to be charged as well, said Sheriff Randy Willis.

Mason's remains were found behind her Alberta, Minn., home Thursday.

Clemens reported his mother missing Dec. 27, telling authorities she got angry that her sons would not play a game of Yahtzee with her and walked out of the house.

But in May, Clemens changed his story and told investigators Jacob told him on Christmas he wanted to kill their mother.

Later, Clemens said, he heard a scuffle and saw Jacob put Mason in a chokehold and suffocate her with a plastic bag. Then both brothers checked her pulse and found none, he said.

Police say Andrew Cobb admitted helping bury the body.
