Two dead, 21 injured in tour bus crash

SEATTLE, May 29 (UPI) -- Two people died and 21 were injured when a tour bus flipped onto its side in Washington state, the state patrol said.

Trooper Scott Martin said the driver lost control of the vehicle on Interstate 90 near Cle Elum Saturday. A man and a woman on the bus were killed.

The bus also struck a disabled vehicle parked at the side of the road, seriously injuring its driver, who was standing nearby, KOMO-TV, Seattle, reported.

"It was pretty chaotic when the officers got here," Martin said. "People were being transported in personal vehicles, ambulances and a helicopter away from the scene."

The Seattle Times said the tour bus was traveling from an international soccer match between Mexico and Ecuador at Qwest Field in Seattle when the accident occurred.

A spokeswoman for the Kittitas Valley Community hospital, where the injured were taken, said most of the injuries were minor or moderate.

The reports didn't say how many people were on the bus, nor did they identify any victims.
