Federal Aviation Administration officials are on scene and crews from the National Transportation Safety Board were en route to North Myrtle Beach to investigate the crash.

An FAA official said the plane took off from Grand Strand Regional Airport for Concord, N.C., but crashed about five miles from the airport in a mobile home park. North Myrtle Beach officials said the aircraft struck the ground in front of a mobile home then slid into the structure, setting it on fire. Witnesses told the television station they saw people running from the home after the plane hit.

Witnesses also said they heard several explosions before hearing the plane hit the ground.

"We saw the plane and everything," said Joshua Randall, who lives in the area and saw the crash. "It was circling around, then it came in a big loop and went down and hit the trailer."
