Stars line up for correspondents' gala

WASHINGTON, May 1 (UPI) -- Saturday's White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington once again resembles a Hollywood affair, with a guest list including hundreds of A-list stars.

The list includes "Glee" star Matthew Morrison, Oscar-winning director Katherine Bigelow and other Hollywood notables such as Scarlett Johansson, Betty White, Morgan Freeman and Justin Bieber, Politico reported.

NFL star Tony Romo is also on the list of invited celebrities, along with actresses Cheryl Hines, Patricia Arquette, Dana Delany, Gabourey Sidibe and Elizabeth Shue, and actors Tim Daly, Stephen Weber and Richard Schiff.

For the most part, the celebrities are guests of the news organizations whose reporters are being honored at the annual event, which usually features a performance by a prominent comedian. This year, the entertainment is being provided by Jay Leno.

Many of the celebrities gathered Friday at St. Regis, a swank hotel in Washington, for the People/Time party, Politico said.

Morrison told the publication if he manages to talk to President Barack Obama at the dinner, it will be his "third time in the past five months."

Who he really wants to meet is New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, he said.
