Mendenhall was found to have attempted to get a fellow inmate to kill three individuals he felt were responsible for his arrest on a murder charge. He was cleared of charges he tried to coordinate the killings of two police detectives.

Mendenhall was arrested on murder charges over the killing of Sarah Hulbert in June 2007. The woman's body was discovered at a truck stop near downtown Nashville, The Tennessean said.

Authorities suspect Menhendall, who will be sentenced for the solicitation convictions Feb. 26, is also responsible for the deaths of three women in Indianapolis, Lebanon, Tenn., and Birmingham, Ala.
