Suspected serial killer admits to slaying

TIBERIAS, Israel, May 26 (UPI) -- A man already suspected of slaying three people has admitted to killing an 18-year-old woman who vanished from Tiberias, Israel, six years ago, police say.

Israeli-American Dana Bennet, 18, disappeared on her way home after a night shift at a restaurant in 2003, and her remains were found in an olive grove this month. Police told Tuesday's Jerusalem Post that Yihye Farakhan, 33, says he and his then-girlfriend kidnapped and beat Bennet to death, burying her near his home in the Bedouin village of Wadi Hamam.

The unnamed girlfriend, who as 16 at the time, has also been implicated in Bennet's slaying, the newspaper said.

Farakhan, who was already under arrest for the suspected rape and attempted kidnapping of an Australian tourist, has also admitted to to killing Czech tourist Sylvia Molorova several months before Bennet's slaying, police allege.

They say he has also admitted to killing a jail cellmate in 2004 as well as to an unspecified killing committed when he was 18, the Post said.
