Oslo armored car heist nets $2 million

OSLO, Norway, April 1 (UPI) -- Norwegian police reported they were following up on leads Tuesday after an overnight armored-car hijacking in the suburbs of Oslo.

Police said a masked man with a handgun got the drop on two cash couriers Monday night and rode along with them on their route before tying them up and fleeing with about 10 million kroner -- $2 million.

Aftenposten said the armored car was tailed by at least one accomplice in an Audi sedan that was later used as the getaway car.

No one was hurt and police indicated they had gathered evidence from the armored car.
