NASHVILLE, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is projected to win the Democratic Super Tuesday primary in Tennessee.
With 33 percent of the vote counted, the New York senator had 60 percent of the vote compared to Sen. Barack Obama's 31 percent, CNN reported.
Ahead of the Super Tuesday election in Tennessee, Clinton led Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, in several polls in the state, The City Paper of Nashville reported.
On the Republican side Tuesday night, Arizona Sen. John McCain leads his GOP rivals former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts.
With 31 percent of the vote counted, McCain had 34 percent support, compared to Huckabee's 31 percent and Romney's 23 percent. Trailing was Texas Rep. Ron Paul with 6 percent support, CNN reported.
A record 320,000 Tennesseans voted early, and voter turnout Tuesday at the polls could beat the state's record of 830,000 in 1988 when Al Gore was on the presidential ballot for the first time, The City Paper reported.
Up for grabs in Tennessee is 68 delegates for the Democrats and 52 for the Republicans.
