Hamas warns against concessions

GAZA, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- A senior Hamas leader warned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Friday not to make concessions to Israel during a scheduled peace summit.

During a speech, Senior Hamas leader and former Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh called Abbas to "reject new concessions to the Israeli occupation, on the refugees, on the land, on Jerusalem, to our sacred right to that holy land," Alalam reported Friday.

Israeli and Palestinian teams are preparing for a November summit in the United States aimed at reviving the stalled Middle East peace process.

Haniyeh said the peace conference would "bring great losses, not only for the Palestinian cause but the entire Arab and Muslim world."
