In the poll, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney led his GOP rivals in overall support and ratings of personal attributes, but those polled said they wanted more Republican choices in January's caucus.

Of those polled, 26 percent backed Romney, 14 percent backed former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and 13 percent backed former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson, who has yet to announce.

Sen. John McCain of Arizona and Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas, each had 8 percent support.
