CLEVELAND, April 14 (UPI) -- Carlos Carrasco laid sprawled out on the right side of the pitcher's mound in front of his stunned Cleveland Indians teammates Tuesday. Carrasco was hit in the head by a line drive off of the bat of Melky Cabrera in the first inning of the Indians 4-1 loss to the Chicago White Sox.
After Cabrera connected, the ball screamed toward Carrasco before skipping off of the top of his glove and smacking the left side of his face. Carrasco is was treated for a jaw contusion and has no symptoms of a concussion or head injury, according to the Indians Twitter account.

X-rays were negative for Carrasco (1-1), who was treated at Lutheran Hospital.
