A revised stadium construction plan in St. Louis calls for the NFL to contribute $300 million toward the $1 billion riverfront project.

The proposal was made to St. Louis aldermen and other city officials Tuesday, the St. Louis Post Dispatch reported.

The St. Louis Rams are one of three franchises being considered for relocation to the Los Angeles area. Rams owner Stan Kroenke has progressed in a plan to build a stadium in California.

NFL owners are scheduled to meet in Houston on Jan. 12-13, where a relocation application fee is expected to be established and additional steps in the process set forth for prospective owners, including Kroenke, Mark Davis of the Oakland Raiders and Alex Spanos of the San Diego Chargers.

Disney CEO Bob Iger admitted at a media event he was recruited to help support the Raiders-Chargers joint project in Carson, Calif. Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson is on the NFL six-member Committee on Los Angeles Opportunities and has been a vocal supporter of the Carson project.

Iger could be granted an opportunity to buy into one of the teams if the Carson site is approved.
