NBA: New York 98, New Orleans 91

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony erupted for 42 points, including six late in the game that turned back a New Orleans rally and handed New York a 98-91 win Wednesday.

Anthony's run of six straight points came after the Pelicans held pulled to within 91-90 on Tyreke Evans' 3-pointer with 2:28 left in the game.

J.R. Smith netted 19 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 16 as the Knicks won for just the second time in eight games.

Eric Gordon totaled 28 points for New Orleans.

Anthony Davis supplied 14 with 10 rebounds and five blocks and Austin Davis also put in 14 points for the Pelicans.
