TORONTO, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Calvin de Haan notched his first NHL goal during a third-period outburst that sent the surging New York Islanders past Toronto 5-3 Tuesday.

John Tavares supplied three assists.
Kyle Okposo and Michael Grabner added one goal each for New York.
Kevin Poulin earned the win with 23 saves.
Mason Raymond, Tyler Bozak and Joffrey Lupul scored for the Maple Leafs.
Bernier finished with 20 stops.
