NBA: Washington 106, Boston 99

BOSTON, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Trevor Ariza scored 27 points Saturday and Washington put on a fourth-quarter surge to overcome Boston 106-99, breaking a six-game skid against the Celtics.

Ariza netted nine straight points in the third quarter and the Wizards outscored Boston 22-7 down the stretch to register their third straight win overall.

John Wall contributed 20 points, nine assists and six steals for Washington, which roared back from an 18-point deficit.

Kevin Seraphin, Marcin Gortat and Nene each helped out with 13 points.

Jared Sullinger provided 22 points with 11 rebounds and Brandon Bass added 11 and 11 for the Celtics, who dropped a second straight game in which they squandered a big lead.
