MLS: Columbus 3, Chicago 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Dominic Oduro opened the scoring with a goal in the 15th minute Saturday and Columbus pressed its playoff push with a 3-0 win over Chicago.

Federico Higuain added his 10th tally of the season on a penalty kick in the 70th and Bernardo Anor chipped in with another score 6 minutes later for the Crew (11-14-5).

The victory elevated Columbus to within two points of the final Eastern Conference playoff spot, trailing Chicago and Philadelphia.

The Fire (11-12-6) remained stuck on 39 points in the East.
