TORONTO, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Robert Earnshaw scored in the 23rd minute Wednesday to answer an early Chicago goal and lift Toronto into a 1-1 tie with the Fire.

Chicago (10-11-6) has earned only two points in its last three matches and missed a chance to move into a playoff position in the Eastern Conference. The Fire is one point behind New England and Houston, who are tied for the conference's No. 5 spot.

Dilly Duka gave Chicago the lead in the 20th minute, but Earnshaw quickly tied the contest.

Toronto, which has only four victories in 28 matches this year, is in next-to-last place in the East.
