BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Chicago's Alex scored the tie-breaking goal in the 86th minute Saturday, helping the Fire's playoff chances with a 3-2 win over New England.

With the score tied 2-2, Alex corralled a poor clearance try in a crowded 6-yard box and sent a low shot into the net for the decisive goal.

Juan Luis Anangono and Mike Magee also scored for the Fire (11-11-6), who got into the Top 5 of the Eastern Conference for the first time all year.

Kelyn Rowe and Saer Sene each scored for the Revolution (10-11-7), who fell behind Chicago and out of East's Top 5 with the loss.
