MLB: San Francisco 2, Toronto 1

SAN FRANCISCO, June 5 (UPI) -- Tim Lincecum struck out six in a solid start that carried the San Francisco Giants to a 2-1 win over the visiting Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday.

Andre Torres drove in both San Francisco runs with a two-run homer to end the Giants' two-game losing streak and Lincecum's (4-5) personal three-game slide.

Torres connected in the seventh inning off Toronto starter Josh Johnson (0-2), who took the loss after being activated from the 15-day disabled list prior to the game. Johnson allowed two runs -- one earned -- on six hits and six strikeouts over seven innings.

Lincecum allowed one run on three hits. The only Toronto run came on a solo home run by Edwin Encarnacion.
