NHL: Anaheim 3, Detroit 2 (OT)

ANAHEIM, Calif., May 9 (UPI) -- Nick Bonino's overtime goal Wednesday gave the Anaheim Ducks a 3-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings in Game 5 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Ryan Getzlaf and Kyle Palmieri each had goals in regulation and Jonas Hiller stopped 29 shots for Anaheim, who aim to finish the series Friday in Detroit.

Jimmy Howard stopped 31-of-34 shots for the Red Wings, winners of the previous two overtime contests in the series. Mikael Samuelsson and Johan Franzen each contributed a goal in the loss.
