TAMPA, Fla., April 9 (UPI) -- Steven Stamkos found the net 5:04 into the third period Tuesday, providing the winning margin in the Tampa Bay Lightning's 3-2 win over slumping Ottawa.

With the game tied 2-2 in the late going, the Bolts went on a power play when Sergei Gonchar was whistled for hooking Stamkos.

Vincent Lecavalier fired a quick pass from behind the net to Stamkos in the slot, who unleashed a wrist shot past Craig Anderson for the game-winner.

Lecavalier and Pierre-Cedric Labrie each added a tally as Tampa Bay snapped a two-game skid.

Ben Bishop turned aside 28 shots for the win.

Guillaume Latendresse and Daniel Alfredsson each scored for the Senators, who dropped a fifth straight but retained their hold on the sixth Eastern Conference playoff seed.

Anderson finished with 21 stops.
