PHILADELPHIA, March 30 (UPI) -- Ilya Bryzgalov turned aside 33-of-34 shots Saturday and Philadelphia helped its playoff chances with a 3-1 victory over Boston, breaking a four-game skid.

Bryzgalov stopped all 24 shots he faced over the first two periods while protecting a 2-0 lead, and then held Boston at bay down the stretch to improve to 14-14-3 on the season.

Mike Knuble and Matt Read each scored and Ruslan Fedotenko added an empty-netter for the Flyers, who pulled to within two points of the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot.

Nathan Horton scored for the Bruins, who hold the fourth seed in the East.

Tuukka Rask turned aside 19-of-21 shots for Boston.
