ST. LOUIS, May 26 (UPI) -- Kyle Kendrick hurled a seven-hit shutout Saturday, collecting his first victory of the season in the Philadelphia Phillies 4-0 whitewash of St. Louis.
Kendrick (1-4), who came into the game with a 5.23 ERA and no wins in five starts, baffled the Cardinals in a 94-pitch gem. The right-hander did not allow a walk and struck out four.

John Mayberry delivered a two-run double and Hunter Pence collected a pair of hits and scored twice for the Phillies, who won their fourth straight -- and have taken the first three in their four-game set against the Cardinals.
Jamie Garcia (3-3) absorbed the loss for St. Louis, yielding four runs on six hits over six innings, walking two and striking out six.
