MLB: Cincinnati 4, Atlanta 3

CINCINNATI, May 23 (UPI) -- Brandon Phillips bashed a pair of homers, driving in three runs for Cincinnati Tuesday in the Reds' 4-3 decision over Atlanta.

Phillips' first blast in the first inning was a two-run shot that erased an early 1-0 deficit. His second homer came the fourth and put the Reds up by a pair of runs.

Zack Cozart also went deep for Cincinnati, which logged a fourth straight victory.

Mat Latos (3-2) tossed seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits. The right-hander struck out eight and walked one.

Aroldis Chapman fanned two in the ninth to rack up his second save.

Braves starter Brandon Beachy (5-2) absorbed his first loss since his initial start of the season April 9. He surrendered four runs on six hits over seven innings.

Michael Bourne went 3-for-4 with two home runs for Atlanta, which fell a half-game behind first-place Washington in the National League East.
