NBA: Chicago 96, San Antonio 89

SAN ANTONIO, March 1 (UPI) -- Derrick Rose hit two key jumpers down the stretch Wednesday to highlight a fourth-quarter effort that lifted Chicago to a 96-89 win over San Antonio.

The Spurs lost at home for just the second time in 15 games this season.

Rose scored 29 points, although he hit only 10-of-23 from the field. He gave the Bulls a five-point lead with 1:50 remaining and did so again with 1:14 left. Luol Deng contributed a 3-pointer for the Bulls with 44 seconds to go for a six-point cushion.

Chicago won its fourth in a row and has 11 victories in 13 games. C.J. Watson added 12 points for the Bulls and both Deng and Joakim Noah had 10. Chicago is one win away from becoming the first team in the NBA this season to reach 30 victories.

Gary Neal led the Spurs with 21 points. Tim Duncan had 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Spurs lost for only the second time in 14 games overall.
