Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Manu Ginobili scored 24 points Wednesday and paced a hot shooting effort that led San Antonio to a 115-90 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Spurs hit 56 percent from the field and were perfect in 15 attempts from the foul line. They broke open the game in the third period, outscoring the Clippers by 21 points in the quarter.
DeJuan Blair added 20 points for the Spurs and Richard Jefferson had 19. San Antonio has won both its games.
Blake Griffin scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Clippers, who have a win and a loss to start the campaign. Chris Paul had 10 points and nine assists.
