NHL: Colorado 3, Philadelphia 2 (SO)

DENVER, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Milan Hejduk, Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly scored in a shootout Monday, handing the Colorado Avalanche a 3-2 victory over Philadelphia.

Danny Briere and James van Riemsdyk responded for the Flyers in the tiebreaker, but Matt Read rang Philadelphia's final shot off the post and the Avs won their sixth straight at home.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere turned aside 31-of-33 shot to earn the victory while Gabriel Landeskog and T.J. Galiardi each scored in regulation for Colorado.

The Flyers' Wayne Simmonds forced overtime when he scored with 19 seconds left in regulation.

Scott Hartnell scored and Ilya Bryzgalov made 25 saves for Philadelphia.
