ST. LOUIS, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- The pitching match-ups for the World Series were coming into focus Tuesday when Texas Rangers Manager Ron Washington said Colby Lewis would start Game 2.

The Fall Classic begins Wednesday in St. Louis, with C.J. Wilson getting the start for Texas vs. Cardinals ace Chris Carpenter.

St. Louis did not immediately announce its choice for Thursday's second game, but Washington told the media Lewis would be moved up from the No. 3 slot he held down during the American League playoffs.

"He has been off for awhile," said Washington. "We'll be back to the way the rotation was at the start of the year."

Wednesday's opening game gives Wilson another shot at picking up his first victory of the post-season. He would also likely pitch Game 6, if necessary.

The Dallas Morning News said Washington appeared to be leaning toward starting Matt Harrison in the third game.

Carpenter is 2-0 this post-season and is seeking a team-record eighth post-season win.
