BEIJING, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki claimed a second-round victory Tuesday at the China Open tennis tournament in Beijing.

Wozniacki won two-thirds of the points on serve en route to a 6-2, 6-3 win over Jarmila Gajdosova. Wozniacki is 5-0 lifetime versus Gajdosova.

She had five breaks in eight receiving games and won 53 percent of the points when Gajdosova served.

Third-seeded Vera Zvonareva needed a third set Tuesday to get past Klara Zakopalova 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 in her second-round match. Zvonareva had to overcome 11 doubles faults and was good on less than half of her first serves. She did that with six service breaks.

Maria Kirilenko ousted sixth-seeded Samantha Stosur 7-5, 1-6, 7-5. Stosur had five service breaks and won more points -- 92-84 -- in the match but those statistics were built in the second set while Kirilenko took the closer first and third sets. Kirilenko also beat Stosur in three sets last week in Tokyo.

Also, qualifier Virginie Razzano defeated 15th-seeded Roberta Vinci 7-6 (9-7), 6-0.

Marion Bartoli, seeded eighth, breezed past Christina McHale 6-2, 6-1 while ninth-seeded Andrea Petkovic beat Carla Suarez Navarro 6-4, 6-4. Bartoli and Petkovic will meet in the third round.
