NFL: Chicago 30, Atlanta 12

CHICAGO, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Jay Cutler compiled 312 yards with two touchdowns Sunday, leading the Chicago Bears to a 30-12 win over Atlanta in the season opener for both teams.

Cutler completed 22-of-32 passes with an interception and Matt Forte contributed 158 total yards of offense for the Bears (1-0), who won the NFC North crown last year before losing in the conference title game.

Forte ran for 68 yards rushing on 16 carries and made five receptions for 90 yards and a score.

Chicago's Robbie Gould booted three field goals and Brian Urlacher scored on a fumble return.

The NFC South champion Falcons (0-1) lost despite a fine performance by Matt Ryan, who went 31-of-47 for 319 yards and was picked off once.

Michael Turner gained 100 rushing yards on 10 carries and added 40 yards on three receptions.
