Atlanta managed only a leadoff single by Dan Uggla in the fifth and a two-out double by Davis Ross in the eighth.

The teams played their final game of the weekend with contests on both Saturday and Sunday having been postponed because of the threat of Hurricane Irene.

New York put at least one runner on base in every inning while winning for just the fourth time in 15 games.

The game was scoreless into the fifth before Nick Evans and Josh Thole produced RBI singles. Justin Turner doubled in two runs in the seventh and Lucas Duda did the same thing in the eighth.

Tim Hudson (13-8) took the loss, giving up four runs on 11 hits in 6 1/3 innings.
