MLB: Detroit 4, Toronto 2

DETROIT, June 27 (UPI) -- Jhonny Peralta hit a go-ahead RBI triple in the eighth inning Monday, boosting the Detroit Tigers to a 4-2 win over Toronto in the makeup of a postponed game.

With the score tied 2-2 in the eighth, Magglio Ordonez hit a one-out single off Marc Rzepczynski (2-2). Austin Jackson came in to run for Ordonez and stole second after Shawn Camp had taken over on the mound.

Peralta followed by looping a 1-2 pitch into right field that got past a diving Jose Bautista and rolled behind him for a run-scoring triple, giving Detroit the lead. Peralta then came home on Ryan Raburn's fielder's choice grounder and the Tigers had their fourth win in five games, putting them 1 1/2 games ahead of second-place Cleveland in the American League Central.

Joaquin Benoit (2-3) collected the win in relief of Max Scherzer, who yielded two runs on six hits over seven innings.

Victor Martinez drove in a pair of runs on two hits for Detroit.

Adam Lind hit a solo homer for the Blue Jays.
