ST. LOUIS, June 26 (UPI) -- Ricky Romero hurled a four-hit shutout, the second of his career, and the Toronto Blue Jays blanked St. Louis 6-0 in an interleague contest.

Romero (7-7) was dominant in his 106-pitch performance, allowing only two walks and striking out four for Toronto, which completed a three-game sweep of the Cardinals.

The left-hander bounced back from a hard-luck loss in his last outing Monday at Atlanta, after which he made comments about the poor hitting performances of his Toronto teammates.

He took matters into his own hands Sunday, delivering a two-run single in the ninth, while J.P Arencibia added a solo homer and Yunel Escobar went 2-for-4 with a run-scoring single.

Kyle McClellan (6-4) yielded five runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings for the Cardinals.
