Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI
CINCINNATI, May 13 (UPI) -- Joey Votto completed a Cincinnati comeback with a two-out RBI single in the 10th inning Friday that gave the Reds a 6-5 victory over St. Louis.
Cincinnati rallied from a four-run deficit to draw within a half game of the Cardinals for the lead in the National League Central.
St. Louis held a 5-4 advantage going into the ninth but Edgar Renteria drew a leadoff walk from Eduardo Sanchez, went to second on a wild pitch and scored the tying run on a single by Brandon Phillips.
After Francisco Cordero struck out Jon Jay with two on to end the top of the 10th, the Reds produced the game-winner against Jason Motte (1-1).
Ramon Hernandez opened the inning with a double but was thrown out at third on a grounder by Chris Heisey. Heisey was able to get all the way to second base on the play and, after Renteria drew a walk, Heisey scored on Votto's single to right.
Cordero (2-1) earned the victory by escaping the jam in the 10th. Scott Rolen came off the disabled list for the Reds and had three hits. Cincinnati won for the seventh time in nine games.
