MLB: Washington 5, San Francisco 2

WASHINGTON, May 1 (UPI) -- Jordan Zimmermann held the Giants to two runs over six innings Sunday and the Washington Nationals posted a 5-2 win over San Francisco.

Zimmerman (2-4) broke a personal three-game losing streak, surrendering six hits and two walks while striking out four for the Nats, who beat the Giants for the second time in three games.

Tyler Clippard and Sean Burnett combined for two innings of scoreless relief and Drew Storen nailed down his fifth save in the ninth.

Ivan Rodriguez hit a two-run single while Jerry Hairston Jr. and Alex Cora added RBI for Washington.

Matt Cain (2-2) yielded three runs on seven hits in a six-inning start for the Giants.
